I am a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, Certified Pilates Instructor, and Somatic Educator. I have extensively studied Authentic Movement, Contemplative Healing Arts, massage therapy, Continuum Movement, Skinner Release Technique, Sound and Breath therapies, Bartenieff Fundamentals, Laban Movement Analysis, yoga, and dance. Having worked as a Pilates instructor since 1996 and in the field of movement arts education since the early 1980's, I believe I bring a wealth of knowledge to my various classes.
I have worked as a dance/movement therapist in various settings from hospitals to private studios, and have presented at conferences throughout the Northeast. My psychotherapy practice includes working with women's issues relating to trauma, eating disorders, addiction, depression, and life transitions.
I opened my studio, Movement Innovations, in October 2002. My style of teaching is thorough and mindful, guiding you to learn about your body's natural intelligence. I provide a safe environment for facilitating each person's process. My understanding of the complexities of movement and the human body helps support your journey of embodiment. My unique approach encourages a heightened awareness of body and mind, and has inspired many to feel a greater sense of joy and ease in their bodies.
